Welcome to the 69th Muppet Family Reunion! (Plus Extended Family)
[You received the invitation for the Muppet Family Reunion about a week ago. These reunions have become a routine thing for you and the extended Muppet Family. Whether it be by plane, car, cave tunnel, or magic, you made your way to Emily Bear's house and settled in for the night. Emily Bear was nowhere in sight to greet you, but, surely that's nothing to be worried about.
However, upon waking up, you'll find that a fierce blizzard has descended upon the house overnight--several feet of snow have piled up on the front porch, and, from the looks of it, the snow won't let up anytime soon. Not to mention the fact that Emily is still not here.
Something feels wrong, but you can't quite put your finger on it.
You may notice a small note pinned to the wall where you slept, which reads:]
COME TO LIVING ROOM AT NOON FOR IMPORTANT FAMILY MEETING :)
[Whatever this meeting is about, you have some time to explore the house and chat with the other people gathered here.]
(ooc: Welcome to the Muppet Murder Hour mock trial week! The host NPC will show up around 5 pm est. Until then, feel free to explore the house and interact with everyone else!)

Then the blizzard sets in. Hm. That's new. Jean was very much set on just swooping in, grabbing a handful of those delightful little popcorn shrimps, then swooping back out. If this snow wants to prevent him from getting back to his job and relatively sane life, he won't have it.
You'll find Jean early in the day in the kitchen, brewing himself some coffee. He drinks it black, with a pinky extended.]
Tch. Terrible.
[Later on, given the possibility of being snowed-in, he takes the liberty of going down to the basement and perhaps...looking through those boxes. If he's going to be stuck here with you all, he demands some sort of entertainment. Besides, he's nosy.]

[He's shaking his head, holding his hand out to take the cup from him. If he doesn't give it up, he's going to forcibly take it from him and pour it into the sink.]

[Dickens is just standing at the bottom of the stairs, watching with an air of disapproval and judgement.]
Those are the background props, they're just there to take up space. You're not supposed to be drawing attention to them. You're going to make the audience confused about what the focus of the narrative is if you keep it up.

a knee-high wall of snow greets him, too tall for at least half the guests to even walk in, and he snorts]
Well isn't this a fine kettle of fish.

Of course he can. The name of the author of this story looks to be the "Muppets Murder Hour Mod Account". Clearly the thing wrong here is the murder part. They're giving the whole twist away before they even get to it, which is in very poor form and he has some strongly-worded constructive criticism for them.
Which is why he's even here in the first place. He attends family reunions regularly, anyways, because who else is going to narrate them (there's actually a long list of people who would like to narrate them but they're less important than Charles Dickens, renowned author).
If anything, he's slightly antsy about the fact that he's supposed to "explore the house and interact with everyone else" until 5 pm est (why did the note even say noon if they were just going to lie about it in the next paragraph). It sounds suspiciously like they want him to participate in this, which isn't something authors (or narrators, and he happens to be both) really do. They've ever expected that of him at the other family reunions.
So yeah anyways none of this really Works™ for Dickens and by god he is going to make his grievances known.
That morning, you'll probably spot him (or hear him) out in the hallway between all the bedrooms, shouting at the top of his fake lungs towards the currently unseen ringmaster of the situation.]
Hello? Excuse me? I think there's been some misconceptions about my role, here, and I have some constructive criticism that can't really wait for... [he checks his pocket-watch.] ...four more hours.

Here now, what's all this racket? Some of us flew in very late last night, and would like to be fashionably late for brunch, if you catch my meaning. Do take your grievances to someone awake enough to care.

In any event, it was still early so she decided to look around and see who had come this year. She trailed a hand along the wall, fingertips lightly brushing the surface as she walked around the first floor]

And whatever are you doing that for, Sarah? It's only a cottage. You're not bound to lose your way.

So after hyperventilating for a good while, he decided that the only way to get out of here and possibly find someone to explain this mess was to leave the bedroom.
What he needed was routine - routine was always good for calming nerves and keeping doom at bay - so he decided to go to the tunnel he'd entered from and see if Gobo had relayed him a letter from Uncle Traveling Matt. As dense of those letters were, they were part of his routine.
Arriving in the basement, however, Boober's heart almost stopped.]
The tunnel! What happened to the tunnel!?

[Dickens is hanging around in the basement still, maybe trying to get a read on the background scenery of the place or maybe just waiting to spring his narration on unsuspecting visitors. Either way-]
They're trapping us in here so we can't leave and ruin the whole story. Everyone knows you can't give your characters any option to back out once the inciting incident occurs.
[He's helping.]

I suppose someone thinks they have an answer. [Jareth waves his note a little, then tucks it back into his vest pocket],
In the meantime, no sense huddling around a dank, draughty basement. I've heard there's going to be popcorn.
....whatever that is.

[Obviously the tunnel's gone and there's nothing he can do about it. He's trapped here with a bunch of lunatics, Camilla not included in that group. She's a perfect chicken after all.
She takes her wing and gives him a few pats for comfort.]

Being stuck here isn't so fun, though. Staying in one place for so long...he'd be likely to suffer from Cabin Fever if he doesn't get out soon. And no one wants that.
He occupies himself firstly looking through the the kitchen for any kind of sharp objects, because those are always good to have.
He will later be found going through the basement, through the boxes of stuff, to see if there's anything of value.]

Family Meeting. [1/2]
It's time to find out why you're all here.]
I suppose you all are wondering why you are here.
[The voice is familiar to some, and appears to be coming from a swivel chair that has been conveniently placed in the middle of the living room. The chair is facing away from everyone, because of course it is.]
It is quite simple. It is for... revenge.
[The chair slowly turns...]
[2/2]
Carefully, dramatically, he reaches up one green hand to pull back the hood and reveal a familiar froggy face. If you're perceptive, you'll notice the makeup applied to a mole on his cheek. If not, maybe you'll be taken in by these next words.]
Hi-lo, my fellow Mappets. It is your good friend, the Kermeet the frog. I am afraid to inform you that I am actually a traitor now bent on destroying you. Sorry for the troubles.
[... Great.]

Come... to... leaving room? Life-ing room?
[He concentrated, trying to remember his lessons.]
...Living room! Come to living room at noon for... im-por-tant... important family meeting! Oh my goodness, I need to go there right now! I hope I'm not late!
[With that, the little clown doll sprinted down the attic steps on his stumpy, stuffed legs, the bells on his hat jingling with every motion. He had somewhere important to be now, and everything else could wait.]

Beaker? Beaker! Where did you go? ...Beakie?
[Upon noticing a passerby in the hallways, Bunsen approaches them with a worried look in his nonexistent eyes.]
Have you seen Beaker around? [He'll elaborate further if the passerby in question isn't familiar with muppet labs.] He's tall, pretty handsome, orange hair and big ol' eyes. He meeps a lot.
[Later on, Bunsen can be found in the kitchen, getting some coffee and scavenging for parts he could use to build the latest muppet lab contraption.]
Wilkins coffee? ...Hm. Hmmmmmmmm. Hard pass.
no subject
Meeps? No... I'm afraid I haven't seen anyone like that around here. I can help you look, if you'd like.
