Welcome to the 69th Muppet Family Reunion! (Plus Extended Family)

[You received the invitation for the Muppet Family Reunion about a week ago. These reunions have become a routine thing for you and the extended Muppet Family. Whether it be by plane, car, cave tunnel, or magic, you made your way to Emily Bear's house and settled in for the night. Emily Bear was nowhere in sight to greet you, but, surely that's nothing to be worried about.

However, upon waking up, you'll find that a fierce blizzard has descended upon the house overnight--several feet of snow have piled up on the front porch, and, from the looks of it, the snow won't let up anytime soon. Not to mention the fact that Emily is still not here.

Something feels wrong, but you can't quite put your finger on it.

You may notice a small note pinned to the wall where you slept, which reads:]

COME TO LIVING ROOM AT NOON FOR IMPORTANT FAMILY MEETING :)

[Whatever this meeting is about, you have some time to explore the house and chat with the other people gathered here.]

(ooc: Welcome to the Muppet Murder Hour mock trial week! The host NPC will show up around 5 pm est. Until then, feel free to explore the house and interact with everyone else!)

...That's true! You can't have a satisfying story without raising the stakes.

But Wilkins Coffee™ isn't going to be a very good resolution if it's not properly built into the narrative. A prize that isn't earned just cheapens the events of the narrative. It's like bringing all your characters back to life after they die.

Wilkins Coffee™ is eternal. The narrative must bend to the will of Wilkins Coffee™. If not, then the narrative must be destroyed.

Then I guess you'd better go find some Wilkins Coffee™, because the clock is ticking. If it doesn't get established in the first act then we can't shoot someone with it in the second act.

Oh boy, you're right! Say, would you like to help me find some Wilkins Coffee™? I promise I'll get you a cup of it afterwards.

[Mmm... well... technically he guesses that he's not really getting involved with anything directly narrative-related, not like a character would, he's just helping set up a future plotline. Shoving story pieces into place. It's fine.]

Sure, why not? Let's go find us some Wilkins Coffee™. I guess it couldn't hurt.

Nothin' hurts so long as you drink Wilkins Coffee™! Bad things only happen to those who don't drink it.

[And with that... unsettling statement, the weird little frog thing heads off to the basement.]

[Good lord, no one here is even trying to be subtle about their roles. He guesses he can't blame them, though, seeing as they're probably not In on the fact that this is a heavily plot-based reunion driven by their responses to things.

Still, it's his job to follow people around regardless of whether or not they're compelling characters. So.]

Haven't you already looked around for this Wilkins Coffee™ stuff? What makes you think you'll find it now? It's poor form to wait this long to introduce a potential key plot device.

Oh, I've looked around plenty! But I just can't seem to find any Wilkins Coffee™ anywhere! So either these people keep it really well hidden, or they don't drink Wilkins™, which is punishable by law.

Punishable by law? What kind of law? Perhaps... death?

[is this guy the villain of the story??? possibly]

Punishable by whatever is decided by the cosmic forces of the world. I cannot stop them, and neither can you.

[He smiles.]

All that we can do is take a sip of Wilkins Coffee™ and love every drop!

But every good protagonist finds a way to cheat death! An author is more powerful than the cosmic forces of the world, anyways.
