Welcome to the 69th Muppet Family Reunion! (Plus Extended Family)

[You received the invitation for the Muppet Family Reunion about a week ago. These reunions have become a routine thing for you and the extended Muppet Family. Whether it be by plane, car, cave tunnel, or magic, you made your way to Emily Bear's house and settled in for the night. Emily Bear was nowhere in sight to greet you, but, surely that's nothing to be worried about.

However, upon waking up, you'll find that a fierce blizzard has descended upon the house overnight--several feet of snow have piled up on the front porch, and, from the looks of it, the snow won't let up anytime soon. Not to mention the fact that Emily is still not here.

Something feels wrong, but you can't quite put your finger on it.

You may notice a small note pinned to the wall where you slept, which reads:]

COME TO LIVING ROOM AT NOON FOR IMPORTANT FAMILY MEETING :)

[Whatever this meeting is about, you have some time to explore the house and chat with the other people gathered here.]

(ooc: Welcome to the Muppet Murder Hour mock trial week! The host NPC will show up around 5 pm est. Until then, feel free to explore the house and interact with everyone else!)

[You know, he's not even sure why he's invited to these things in the first place. Was it because of that terrible frogman or that FBI Agent Who Very Much Resembled An Eagle? Tch. Regardless, he'll attend for the free wine, he supposes.

Then the blizzard sets in. Hm. That's new. Jean was very much set on just swooping in, grabbing a handful of those delightful little popcorn shrimps, then swooping back out. If this snow wants to prevent him from getting back to his job and relatively sane life, he won't have it.

You'll find Jean early in the day in the kitchen, brewing himself some coffee. He drinks it black, with a pinky extended.]

Tch. Terrible.

[Later on, given the possibility of being snowed-in, he takes the liberty of going down to the basement and perhaps...looking through those boxes. If he's going to be stuck here with you all, he demands some sort of entertainment. Besides, he's nosy.]

[You thought you could escape chaos this early in the morning? Too bad. Because the Swedish Chef is a fixture in a kitchen you simply cannot get rid of. He briefly glances at Jean Pierre when he comes in, paying him little attention. Then he sees him brewing that...pitiful cup of coffee, and that's when he knows he has to step in.]

Smërgë nö cåfëë, nú bångëë snúrg më!

[He's shaking his head, holding his hand out to take the cup from him. If he doesn't give it up, he's going to forcibly take it from him and pour it into the sink.]

[the second option of course, as nobody would willingly give anything to the Swedish Chef]

What are you doing, you horrible man?! Can’t you see I was busy expressing my distaste?

[He snatches the cup from Jean Pierre's hands, immediately dunking it into the sink. Then, the takes the coffee pot and throws it somewhere else in the kitchen, causing it to shatter. He doesn't seem to particularly care.]

Henme grönk cåfëë nu eegh. Ees nuu gude! Weech dis.

[He holds up a finger, as if to tell Jean Pierre to watch him. He takes a bag of coffee grinds and a gallon of milk. He opens up the gallon of milk and starts pouring in the coffee grinds.]

Svëëdsh îcë cåfëë!

[You...might want to stop him before he pours all the coffee into the jug.]

Uh, excuse me.

[Dickens is just standing at the bottom of the stairs, watching with an air of disapproval and judgement.]

Those are the background props, they're just there to take up space. You're not supposed to be drawing attention to them. You're going to make the audience confused about what the focus of the narrative is if you keep it up.

...and what is the focus of the narrative?

[you. you’re intriguing.]

You know, I don't want to spoil the whole twist or anything, but I'm pretty sure it's got to do with murder. It just seems like that sort of setup.

[Of course there's also the fact that the author's name is Muppets Murder Hour Mods Account but he doesn't go around telling characters about those things.]

Murder, you say. How very interesting. That must be why the snow has piled up outside, as part of the murderer’s foul plot!

That's exactly what I was thinking! A classic way to trap a bunch of characters in one place. Classic bordering on cliche, if you ask me.

[When Jean first enters the kitchen, he may notice the sound of something... rustling, in the cabinet where the coffee stuff is usually kept- Emily Bear keeps a tidy kitchen, and doesn't keep much out on the counters.

Open it?]

[...]

That is very odd. Usually my stomach rumbles when entering the kitchen, it is not supposed to be the kitchen doing the rumbling.

Hhhhhhi there! Would you happen to like a big ol' cup of Wilkins Coffee™?

[The little frog gremlin is perched on top of a can of it. He's grinning wildly and his eyes are dead. He's spotted you, and there is nothing you can do to escape him now.]
